Restoring with External Backup Tools

The Database Manager CLI supports the use of the following external backup tools:

Using the Backup Tools

Start the operation for restoring the database instance from the Database manager CLI. The naming conventions for external backup media enable the program to recognize the external backup tool and start it.

Procedure

First determine the external backup ID for the required backup (Requesting External Backup IDs, Reading External Backup IDs). The Database Manager uses this ID to identify the backup that is to be restored.

The number of media in a group of parallel media must correspond to the number of media used to create the backup.
