SQL Studio

SQL Studio provides easy access to the data held in a SAP DB database instance. You can use two different clients.

SQL Studio has a comfortable graphical user interface and runs on Microsoft Windows platforms. To those looking for a database query tool available on all operating system platforms, SAP DB offers the Web-based application Web SQL Studio.

Improvements in SQL Studio Version 7.4

With the launch of version 7.4, SQL Studio has become even more convenient to use.
The SAP DB tool for creating and executing SQL statements offers a couple of new features:

• You can now open database objects such as tables and stored SQL statements directly from the Catalog Manager in order to work with them in query dialogs or table definitions.
  Select a database object in the Catalog Manager, choose Catalog Manager -> Send Object to and select a dialog type. The dialog window will open displaying the selected database object.
• You can use the F8 key to call the Execute function and execute SQL statements.
• You can copy values together with their data type format from result tables and reuse them in new SQL statements. CHAR values, for example, will be enclosed in single quotation marks when they are copied to a new SQL statement.
  To copy a value with its format, select the value in the result table and copy it using the key combination Ctrl + Shift + C.

The Direct SQL and Query by Example dialogs have been renamed SQL Dialog and Form Dialog.
