rpm Package Installation in Linux
From here, you can download the complete SAP DB software as an rpm package.
Once you have finished the installation, it is recommendable to create and test a sample database.
Installation Steps

- Install the software.
If there are previous SAP DB versions installed on your computer, you must install the version-dependent
software and update the version-independent software.
Note:
When updating the Version-Independent Software package, first stop the X server. Then execute the installation
command.
Log on as the user root.
- For installing a package key in the following command:
rpm -U <package_name>
- For updating a previously installed Version-Independent Software package first stop the X server:
/opt/sapdb/<independent_program_path>/bin/x_server stop
Then execute the installation command:
rpm -U <package_name>
